At Microsoft, I aided efforts to enhance our social media template collection for the Designer App, ensuring diversity, quality, and relevance by leveraging user and industry data. I contributed to the development of generative AI tools and curated large design datasets to advance Machine Learning capabilities within Microsoft.
The goal was to build a robust and dynamic catalog of social media templates tailored for a broad range of users. The templates needed to align with evolving trends and user needs, offering high-quality, customizable designs that could be manually edited or refined through AI recommendations. The focus was on diversity in design, incorporating different styles (modern, retro, minimal) and themes (holidays, sales, events, business, personal branding) to create a comprehensive library that supports users in their content creation process.
Social Media Catalog Generation
Working closely with the Senior Art Director and a team of designers, I took part in a scalable system for creating a variety of templates across different styles and themes. This allowed users to seamlessly customize their designs while maintaining professional aesthetics.
Multi-Platform Optimization
Ensuring consistency across social platforms was a priority. Each template was designed in multiple sizes to be adaptable for Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn. This approach allowed for a seamless cross-platform experience while maintaining brand cohesion.
Designing for User Prompts
The Designer App’s AI-driven template system relies on a foundational catalog that informs its generative capabilities. Our team structured templates around diverse use cases, including major holidays, promotions, and industry-specific content, ensuring that AI-generated outputs remained relevant and engaging.
Designer App Functionality & AI Adaptability
As Designer evolved, so did our approach to template creation. We focused on designing templates that accounted for high levels of user customization, allowing for flexible edits in typography, imagery, and color schemes. This systematic approach ensured that users could easily personalize content while maintaining design integrity. Through strategic collaboration and data-driven insights, this initiative helped refine the Designer App’s offerings, improving accessibility and usability for a global audience of content creators and businesses.
